In this sea of choices at the bookstore, why should anyone give a shiitake about your book?
I wrote this note to myself at the start of 2020 when I decided to write this guide.
Most of the business books I’ve read focus on the needs of individuals who are already successful and want to scale, so I found much of the advice in these books to be inapplicable when I was starting out. Authors of those books know that their incredible rags-to-riches stories are what sells, but many have forgotten what it’s like to start at the beginning with nothing but a goal.
I wanted a business book that speaks to the needs of those who are starting bootstrapped micro-businesses with $0. No loans. No venture capital.
I wanted a business book that provides a simple guide for launching the small, lifestyle business I wanted so I could become self-employed and make more money in the process.
So, I’ve written that guide.
